This fascinating exhibition celebrates some of the incredible scientists who have lived and worked in St Albans and the surrounding District. Learn about Francis Bacon’s new experimental method, described in his book Novum Organum Scientiarum, and discover how it still shapes the way we work today from the longest running agricultural experiment in the world at Rothamsted to the pioneering work of entomologist Eleanor Ormerod and Stephen Hawking’s work on Black Holes
This exhibition is supported by AHRC.

Running with Thread

Nicola Moody is a local artist who has collaborated with parkrun Luton and Wardown House to create three woven artworks based on data from three different participants of parkrun. The runners’ time, heartrate and length of stride are all factors that have influenced the scale and design of the work.
